Humana announced that Humana Pharmacy and Humana Specialty Pharmacy are now CenterWell Pharmacy and CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy after making a seamless transition to the CenterWell healthcare services brand.
In 2021, Humana announced today a new brand – CenterWell – to describe and connect a range of the company’s payer-agnostic health care services offerings. The first Humana-owned care services to adopt the new brand were its senior-focused primary care facilities that operated as “Partners in Primary Care” in several states and as “Family Physicians Group” in the Orlando area.
Earlier this year, Humana started to transition Kindred at Home’s home health division to the CenterWell Home Health brand.
Humana has significantly expanded its healthcare service capabilities, including its senior-focused primary care, pharmacy and home care offerings, to better serve the company’s medical members while also increasing its total addressable market.
All CenterWell Pharmacy services, including prescription home delivery, over-the-counter (OTC) fulfillment and retail pharmacies in Humana-owned primary care locations, have adopted the brand while Enclara Pharmacia and Humana Pharmacy Solutions, which is Humana’s Pharmacy Benefit Manager, will keep their existing branding and will not transition to the CenterWell brand.
Patients of CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy, which is payer-agnostic, can expect the same level of high quality personalized therapy management for chronic and complex illnesses, as well as customized clinical and educational services. Both CenterWell Pharmacy and CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy also support patients who apply for assistance programs to help pay for their drugs.
CenterWell, part of Humana, creates care experiences that put patients at the center. The result is healthcare that provides ease, comprehensiveness and, most of all, a personal approach. The primary care, pharmacy, and home health services go beyond traditional clinical settings and outcomes, working with patients and their care teams to close gaps and take their whole health into account.
Takeaway: Humana’s integration of CenterWell Primary Care, home health and pharmacy in a local market will lead to improved health outcomes, increased customer satisfaction and decrease in the total cost of care while also building additional profit pools for the enterprise
