IngenioRx Growing External to Anthem’s Book of Business

Anthem has viewed a large part of IngenioRx’s growth to come from the company’s own self-funded book of business, such as Blue Cross of Idaho brought on as a client in 2020.

Anthem’s plans for IngenioRx have included to be a platform for the company’s growth by:

  • Expanding the share of wallet within the existing medical book
  • Leveraging standalone pharmacy opportunities
  • Creating new pharmacy partnerships with non-Anthem Blues

Recently, AlohaCare, entered into a three-year pharmacy benefits management agreement with IngenioRx starting July 1, 2021. AlohaCare is Hawai’i’s only community-led Medicaid and dual eligible Medicare health insurer.

Through this agreement, IngenioRx will provide exclusive pharmacy benefit management services for AlohaCare’s QUEST Integration membership. This new partnership will support members and providers with prescription drug benefit services designed to improve the pharmacy experience and drive better health outcomes, while further lowering costs.

Under the terms of the agreement, AlohaCare will be able to deliver even greater value to members on all islands by leveraging IngenioRx’s member-first capabilities, bringing new tools and digital technology designed to better increase member engagement in pharmacy treatment and manage overall drug spend.

Takeaway: IngenioRx offers a whole-health approach that helps drive better outcomes and lowers member, employer and plan costs by delivering member-centric solutions
