Option Care Health Merger Benefits Beginning to be Realized

Option Care Health is the largest independent national provider of home and alternate site infusion therapy in the United States. With over 6,000 teammates including 2,900 clinicians, the company was formed through the merger of Option Care and BioScrip in 2019.

Option Care Health, during its current merger integration and commercial alignment activities, is also working with several payers in systems around broadening its relationships. Option Care Health has recently entered into multiyear extensions with both UnitedHealthcare and Aetna, that position the company in both payers’ preferred networks.

Option Care Health has established uniform contracts for each payer across the country that simplifies the relationship and opens access to all markets for their unique members on a consistent basis.

Also, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield selected Option Care Health as a preferred partner to support their hemophilia population. Option Care Health is leveraging its national scale, site-of-care initiatives and clinical expertise to differentiate the company in the market.

A national leader in treating bleeding disorders, Option Care Health provides specialized intravenous (IV) infusion of clotting factors that control bleeding, which people with hemophilia are missing. Option Care Health has access to all hemophilia factor treatments, including those that are limited in distribution.
